Discovering Ithaca
Lakeview is situated on one of the most scenic and desirable stretches of Cayuga Lake, the western shore, but conveniently located within the Town of Ithaca and enjoying all of its amenities, including municipal water and sewer service. The house is only 1.5 miles from downtown Ithaca and less than 4 miles to the Cornell Campus and Ithaca College.
A few minutes drive towards town takes you to Cass Park which offers soccer and softball fields, tennis courts, a swimming pool, marina and walking trails and is home to the Hangar Theatre, where productions are staged all summer.
From our dock you can boat (or canoe and kayak) down the inlet to the Ithaca Farmer's Market held every weekend throughout the year. Then stop in at one of the several bars and restaurants located on the inlet, including the Boatyard Grill.
Go fifteen minutes in the opposite direction and you can enjoy a tour of some of the renowned Finger Lakes Wineries on the western slopes of Cayuga Lake.
Throughout Ithaca there are numerous hiking trails and gorges as well as Taughannock Falls, Buttermilk Falls, and Treman Park. Ithaca offers the unique Discovery Trail, a partnership of eight top educational attractions including, the kid-friendly science center, the renowned Cornell lab of Ornithology and the Herbert Johnson Museum.
Ithaca is a comfortable four-hour drive from Manhattan, five and a half from Boston and one hour from Syracuse and Rochester.
